Huber Triggers take top honors
in competition shoot!

John F. Huber
Cast Bullet Association and
Hawkeye Rifle & Pistol Club
hosted the National Match
Tournament, located adjacent to SIOUX Gateway Airport in Sioux
City, Iowa on June 9-10, 2007.
29 shooters from as far away as Seattle,WA and San Mateo,CA
competed with service rifles, loading cast bullets to challenge
the wind for score and accuracy.
Service rifles used for their inherent accuracy are Springfield
1903/03A3, Swiss K-31 , Mausers, Enfield & SMLE, Mosin-Nagant and
a Vetterli .41 Swiss.
Notable champion shooters- Scott Merchant, Wallace Enga, “Doc”
Nelson, Larry Rickertsen & Tom Acheson set a total of 16 new
National Match Records over the weekend of precision shooting.
John F. Huber, owner of Huber Concepts, came from Fond du Lac,WI.
Huber manufactures patented rifle triggers for these rifles, and
was invited as commercial & technical support. He subsequently
entered the competition using Scott Merchant’s rifle from last
season. John hasn’t shot competitively in 15-20 years, but his
performance (2 medals for 2nd-offhand 100yds & 3rd
for 200yd aggregate score) indicated he’d put in quality trigger
time in the past. He noted that numerous of the days’ records
established were directly attributed to using the Huber-Ball
triggers in these rifles. A half dozen triggers were installed at
the match and quickly resulted in improved performance and medals
for these shooters.
